Taylor Frint is a host of exceptional ability. Studies show that a vast majority of guests attending events by Taylor have been known to leave more elated than visitors to Santa's Workshop, The Lost of Continent of Atlantis, and the Fountain of Youth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is welcome at the REI + Brooks Night Run?

This event is specifically focused on the experience of women and gender-expansive runners, but everyone is welcome!

  • Women, trans, non-binary and gender-expansive runners (and the people that love them)
  • Anyone who doesn’t feel they have the privilege to run at night
  • Runners, walkers and people in wheelchairs or handcycles
  • People with and in strollers
  • Supportive spectators

Why does this event focus on women and gender expansive runners?

We recognize that women and gender-expansive runners are not the only groups that may not feel safe running at night—or running at all. But as physical attacks against women grow in the Bay in 2023, and the safety of trans and nonbinary people is at risk nationwide, we chose to focus on this specific need in our region. Everyone is welcome to join us and find community in this space.

How long is the Night Run route?

There are 1-mile, 5K, and 5-mile routes to choose from, open to all ability levels. Click on the distance of your choice to see the routes on Strava.

1 mile | 5K | 5 mile

Will parking be available on site?

No. Please be advised that this event will take place in the San Francisco REI parking lot, so parking in the lot will not be an option. We recommend ridesharing. Use the Lyft code REIANDBROOKS for $5 off any one ride to/from REI San Francisco between 6:00pm and 10:30pm.

RSVPs are full. Can I still come to the event?

Maybe! The event is currently full, but please join the waitlist.

What should I wear?

This is a Night Run, so light/bright colors are best. If you have lights, a headlamp or reflective fabrics to wear, that’s a great idea too. Lastly, dress for the weather, as the majority of this event will be outside.

I am a nursing parent. Will I have a private place to pump or nurse on site?

Yes. &Mother will provide lactation support at the REI + Brooks Night Run. The &Mother team will outfit a clean, secure, accessible space for any parent who needs to pump and/or nurse at our event. The lactation station will include power for plug-in pumps.

&Mother is a non-profit dedicated to breaking the barriers that limit a woman's choice to pursue and thrive in both career and motherhood. Providing supportive infrastructure, like lactation stations, at running events is just one way &Mother is using sports as demonstration for how the rest of society can better support mothers and parents. Learn more at www.andmother.org, or follow them on Instagram @andmother_org.

Do I need to arrive on time?

No. You can join the event at any time. IMPACT Bay Area will host a free "Empowerment 101" class from 7:00–7:30pm. The group runs will begin at 8:00pm. Musical guest Madame Gandhi will start performing around 8:30. Feel free to be present for any or all parts of the evening.
